LA ESPAÑA DE FELIPE II. UN IMPERIO SIN EMPERADOR

1- Felipe II was the son of Carlos I and Isabel of Portugal

2- Felipe II was married four times. The first one was Maria de Portugal, after that Maria I de Portugal, then Isabel de Valois and finally Ana de Austria

3- The enemies were the French, the Turkish and German princes

4- Felipe II ruled a vast territory but he didn't have the title of emperor

5- This battle was in 1557 and the consequences was that Spain became the most powerful country of the world. Moreover, Spanish throw French out of Italy

6- Juan de Herrera was an architect from Cantabria who built El Escorial monastery to Felipe II

7- He liked the art, he knew a lot about Geography and he was very religious

8- He fought against all countries anti catholic like Nederland and England

9- The most important army in the sixteenth century which attacked the British coast in 1588
